In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
Yes! Anyone is welcome to apply during the open call for speakers. TEDx speakers are dedicated individuals willing to commit their time and energy to presenting their ideas. If you have an idea worth sharing then you should apply. Note: TEDx talks cannot be self-promotional.
What if I’ve been a TEDxSavannah speaker before?
So long as it’s not for consecutive years, you are welcome to apply again.
TEDxSavannah is made possible thanks to generous donations from the Savannah community. If you would like to become a sponsor please contact us.
TedxSavannah is designed to be a day-long, fully immersive, carefully curated experience. Selected speakers spend months working with a coaching team to perfect their talks, so come prepared to be both supportive and impressed. In between the talks we’ll also share TED videos that fit with our theme and help add to the ideas worth spreading.
A key component of TEDxSavannah is the opportunity it provides for conversation and the active exchange of ideas, and therefore throughout the day there are lengthy breaks to facilitate this. Attendees are provided coffee and light snacks in the morning, two breaks with refreshments, a full lunch and an afterparty immediately following the final talk. In order to enjoy the full benefit of TEDxSavannah, we encourage all attendees to commit to the full day.
Like every TEDx event around the world we will be filming TEDxSavannah, so expect to see our production crew hard at work. Please respect any directions they give.
If you are a ticket-holder but cannot attend, please contact us immediately so that we can connect you with someone on our standby list who would like to attend in your place.
While we do not encourage partial attendance, we do understand that it is sometimes unavoidable. If you are able to attend for only half of the day we ask that you contact us immediately so that we can connect you with someone on our standby list who would like to attend the other half in your place.
TEDxSavannah has a limited capacity and each year tickets sell out very quickly. We hope to grow the event to accommodate more attendees in the future, but for now we have provided the opportunity for anyone who is unable to get a ticket to sign up for our standby list. If any tickets become available due to a ticket-holder being unable to attend, we will connect them with the people on that list on a first come, first serve basis. You can also watch the talks live via the livestream video feed.
