Nola Blackwood is a scholar, educator and museum professional with two decades of experience looking closely at art and architecture around the world. She completed her Ph.D. at London’s Courtauld Institute of Art, where she specialized in Renaissance painting. She lectures widely and loves sharing the beauty and big ideas of great works of art. Since moving south, she has been exploring Savannah’s unique botanical history. She works with several historic houses and gardens in the city, serving as a consultant, interpreter and advocate for nuanced historical narratives. She also runs an art appraisal and design firm, Disegno, along with a private tour company, Art and Amble.
