Vira Salzburn moved from Ukraine to the United States at the age of 18 with many hopes and a few possessions. One of two Mindful Self-Compassion Trained Teachers in the state of Georgia, she currently serves as the Program Director for Prevent Suicide Today, a community-based suicide prevention program managed by Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council and Gateway Community Service Board. She is an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Master Trainer, Certified Associate in Project Management and Group Yoga Instructor. She has presented at numerous state and local conferences about the importance of addressing the problem of suicide and building resilient communities.
